MEET KAREN CURRERI

Karen Curreri is a nationally respected educational consultant known for giving students a competitive edge in the college admissions process. She brings a wealth of insight from her extensive background in education, with a Master of Science in Counseling from Johns Hopkins University and decades of experience as an academic dean, college counselor, and Director of College Counseling in leading private, parochial, and public schools on both coasts.

Karen is a developmental counselor who understands students at every stage—guiding them with a thoughtful balance of challenge and encouragement. She promotes mental wellness throughout the college admissions journey, helping families reduce stress while empowering students to perform at their best.

Her students have been admitted to the nation’s most competitive colleges and universities, including Ivy League schools and top-tier programs in the visual and performing arts, STEM majors, humanities, and athletics. Karen has also worked with Olympic and elite-level athletes on college recruiting and scholarships, drawing on her background as a U.S. Swimming coach.

A proud Gold Star Mother, Karen is deeply committed to supporting military families, especially those connected to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. She also created and directed the documentary *How to Become an A+ Human Being*, which she uses as a teaching tool to help underserved students transition successfully to high school and beyond.

Karen is a featured speaker at national conferences and corporate, civic, and military events, and has been interviewed by international and local media. She is an active member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) and the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA).

Based in Corona del Mar, California, Karen brings warmth, insight, and strategy to every student she works with. She enjoys paddleboarding, biking, and competitive ballroom dancing—and most of all, spending time with her family in Laguna Beach.
